The meaning of d'Annam

I’m Nick, founder of d’Annam, and I’m often asked about the meaning behind our brand name.

At its simplest, it means “from Vietnam.” In Vietnamese, “An” speaks of peace and serenity — the core values of our brand. “Nam” is a nod to Vietnam, our roots. Together, they form a name born of both heritage and stillness, like a quiet breeze through rice fields.

I always loved the name “An.” I even dreamed of naming our firstborn An if we had a girl. But life gave us a beautiful boy instead.

Words are merely a vehicle to express intention. Our intention has always been to celebrate Asian culture with reverence and authenticity.
