I bought all three Discovery Sets and was so surprised when Mooncake became an immediate favorite. I did not know I liked gourmand fragrances, but Mooncake and Pho Breakfast opened my eyes. Mooncake smells like rich, warm cake but not in a sweet sickly way. There is a savoriness to it which may be what the salted egg yolk contributes. (It does NOT overtly smell like egg, though.) It has good sillage and great longevity. I wear it all the time in the cooler months.

I was in love with the sample. But the full bottle doesnt smell as good. It’s weaker. I have 6 d’Annam scents and this one has been the only miss for me. But, it is a sad that it is basically different from what i sampled, it’s not only weak but also a bit sour/tangy. The sample was rich and warm. Subtle compared to something like Pomelo Oolong or Through the Forest but still I could clearly perceive it with the sample.

I'm not the biggest fan of honey scents BUT if that's your thing, this perfume is amazing!

It smells like REAL, natural organic honey, not overly sweet or synthetic.

When I first apply it, the honey is the main note, but as it settles, the salty nuance of egg yolk comes through, which is really pleasant. The lotus seeds and mung bean add a soft, slightly powdery touch.

In the end, I think it’s a nice fragrance for people who like gourmand scents but want something more natural, not too sweet or syrupy.
