Very photorealistic mochi scent with red bean. I get no strawberry on me though, which is a shame because it would lighten up the scent as a whole. Regardless, very unique perfume as i can say I've never seen a mochi perfume before. Cant wait to wear this in winter to see if it any different

The scent opens up so absolutley delicious and then it dries down to this subtle floral scent that is feminine and very pretty. I wish the rice note is in the drydown too.

    Unique, Sweet, Gourmand

I bought the tester set for the whole Japan series, and this perfume made it into the top three (alongside kimono and sakura) for me. However, as a woman, I automatically left out scents like samurai from my tops. My credentials: I have worked with and lived in Japan for over 8 years.

Upon first smelling mochi, I was disappointed. To me, this does not smell like strawberry daifuku, so I felt a bit deceived. However, with time, my disappointment faded, and I saw the perfume for what it was, not for what it was named. This perfume lacks a strawberry presence and reminds me of warabi mochi or a mochi store more than strawberry daifuku. It is undoubtedly unique. I have never smelled a gourmand like it. It is decadent and addictive, but a tad on the sweet side.

Overall, I would buy this perfume, but I would buy it under the guise of having a sweet, unique gourmand that resembles warm rice, Japan, and everything nice. I would not buy this expecting a fruity smell.

Final thoughts: This sits amazingly on the skin and lasts. It is sweet, gourmand, and unique. I have asked many friends to smell it from my bottle, and everyone has liked it, so I doubt you will be disappointed unless you want more strawberry smell.
