The Enchanted Egg is d'Annam's first step into a new form, our philosophy of calmness carried beyond fragrance and into the everyday. It is a way of extending what perfume has always meant to us, a moment of peace, into an object made for the home and the quiet hours in between.
The Shape
The egg has long been a signature shape at d’Annam, present in our house since its earliest days. For The Enchanted Egg, we return to it with the same intention.
For d’Annam, this shape is an expression of a philosophy that runs through the house: a belief in calm, contemplation, and finding beauty in moments of stillness. d'Annam candles bring that same feeling into the home, creating an atmosphere that asks very little of you, except perhaps to pause.
For this collection, we collaborated with LÙNG Studio, a Vietnamese design studio that helped bring our vision to life through thoughtful design and production.
The Making
Each egg vessel is handcrafted from clay by local artisans. The rounded form requires patience and a careful eye, with every vessel taking shape through a process that cannot be rushed. It is shaped, turned, and coaxed into balance, with the lightest touch able to alter its form.
Once fired, the clay becomes earthenware, preserving the gentle curve of the egg while giving each vessel its own character. No two are exactly alike. Subtle variations in texture, weight, and form are part of the process, giving each piece a character of its own.
A candle made this way asks to be kept. We hope you will keep it a while.
