was really intrigued by the notes and thought it would be a fun gourmand for fall, but it reacts quite differently than I expected on my skin. if I smell the nozzle or spray on paper it smells quite sweet (but balanced), but on my skin it's very predominately the lotus seed and mung bean, with a bit of the honey in the background in a subtle way. it ends up smelling very medicinal on me, as if I walked into one of those shops that sell traditional Chinese herbs, but they're also making brown sugar boba in the back or something. bitter and earthy in an herbal way with just a hint of nutty sweetness, though it does eventually dry down a bit more sweet (maybe after 4-5 hours? but also is much fainter by then, almost like a skin scent). honestly doesn't resemble a traditional mooncake smell on me - maybe a mooncake that's like 90% lotus paste filling (but not sweet) and 10% of the golden outside part lol - but I don't mind much because it's like a unique interpretation of a nostalgic scent to me as a Chinese American. all this to say that it if you're looking for a really photorealistic mooncake scent, this might not be it... but worth trying for some new notes in the fall/winter!
